Do you know someone like this?

Recently I asked someone about their salvation; I asked are you saved and the answer was I hope so.  My first thought was he has not studied to be sure and I hope that Fire Insurance Policy he bought  is correct.

The Day after …

Do you remember the day after Jesus died?  Do you remember what the disciples did and in particular the apostles?  You are right … They went fishing.  John 21:3 (GW) Simon Peter said to the others, “I'm going fishing.” They told him, “We're going with you.” They went out in a boat but didn't catch a thing that night.

Could it be that being with Jesus for three years they didn’t understand why Jesus had to die.  Did they think it was a club that they joined and their leader had died?

They were told about was going to happen during the three years they were with Him, but they thought worldly rather then spirituality. Here read this …

Matthew 16:21-23 (NKJV) 21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go toJerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to you!" 23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."

The world want to go fishing, but the we should go study and not forget what Jesus has done for us.  It's easy to get caught up in daily things

We need to remember that the resurrection is not an event in the World, but an event in our lives!

Study and Study ...

"a workman that needed not to be ashamed"

You can study and understand God's Word ....

Personal Bible study is important and at the same time getting  involved in a group so that there can be a discussion, not just to have someone preach, teach or present material that may or not be true.    We have to make sure that the material is actually correct.  I do not want to have my salvation, eternity and Christian growth along with my relationship with God rest in the hands of another.

Some would think that going to Sunday school class at Church would is considered studying.  Others think that defending their position is studying, rather then in both cases learning to study for the truth.

Do you know someone like this?

Recently I asked someone about their salvation; I asked are you saved and the answer was I hope so.  My first thought was he has not studied to be sure and I hope the Fire Insurance Policy he bought into is correct.

It is important this you believe God can confirm all
 things in his word?

That also includes my peace with God and my security.   Many Christians today do not have the peace of God.  I think because they do not confirm what they have heard as to whether it is true.   That makes them uncertain about their Salvation, there security and how to proceed with their relationship with God. Most think that as long as they have the Fire Insurance Policy issued by some person or place they are saved and will go to heaven.  Do we know that when that policy comes due, it will do what we think?

Please think about this!

Why is it that there are around 24 different types ofChristian Churches that have different doctrines concerning salvation, eternity, Christian growth and how to have a relationship with God?  Can they all be right; in a recent survey of Christians, 75 % believe that there are different ways to Heaven and many ways to obtain salvation. Doesn't that scare you?  We should study not only to help our self but our family and our friends.
We should be able to back up our beliefs with hard facts not assumptions. I think the key to unlocking the door of truth is written in the following verse:

2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (KJV)

key elements of that scripture verse?
  1. Show (shew)- If we don’t study or have verbal discussions how can we show to God we care or are interested in Him.
  2. Approved– I not sure if there is a grading process or not, but I think that those that attempt to study and converse with others you get an A+.
  3. Workman– That does point to someone like us putting some time in to study so that we might know the truth.
  4. Not to be ashamed– How many people are afraid to talk about their God and his Salvation, etc. Could it be that they would be ashamed.
  5. Rightly dividing the word of truth– How can you divide the Word, Gods Word without studying.  I don’t know about you but I need discussion as well to firmly fit the blocks of my life on the Cornerstone of my Faith. So that as I build my faith it is sure and sound.
Ephesians 4:14 (NKJV) “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting”,

This is what happens if we allow other to teach us, yes we can listen to preaching, teaching and read material provided.

1 John 2:27 (NKJV)  “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him”.

Satan wants confusion with our beliefs!

His main goal is getting people who don’t want to investigate the truth tell other and then confuse them. Why? So he can be like God.

Remember the 24 types of Christian Churches, how do you know which is the correct one.

The people are always nice and some are friends or family.  The Pastor is a great guy, but we are talking about our spiritual health and it is up to us to know and share the truth.  Allow the Holy Spirit to teach and train you to know and share Gods word.

I started a blog on www.menafterchrist.net where you can make comments.  This way everyone on the e-mail list can make comments and see all the comments posted.

The Obituary of Jesus 33 AD

Stewart

The last two weeks we covered Salvation and Forgiveness.  If you have not read them, just click on the link provided and review the two articles. I wrote those two articles and want to present them to you before Easter.  There are two types of people that will celebrate Easter.  One that believes that Jesus has died on the cross for their sins and rose on the third day by the power of the Holy Spirit.    The other want easter eggs and easter bunnies.  Is it a pagan Holiday or a Christian Holiday?  Who mixed things up?  Read the article I posted on my website.   Look at the roots of Easter   Is it just the case of believing or not.  We have been talking about how important it is to Believe.  Look at the following verse.
Romans 15:13 (KJV) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Step1 Believe in the Death, burial and Ressurection.
Step2 receive the Holy Spirit by faith.
Step3 God will fill us with joy and peace with the Holy Spirit.
Read the newsletter and let me know what you think!

Happy Easter

Easter is the greatest Christian day to celebrate.  Our relationship with God is because of the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus  We have been blessed since Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for all the sins in the world, Past, Present and Future.  That ressurection has allowed us to make peace with God.  Remember that Sin had separated us from God until the resurrection.
Romans 5:1 (KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ

Just believe to receive the power of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (NKJV) Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

Believe today, receive the Holy Spirit and the peace of God will also keep your hearts and minds.

Philippians 4:7 (KJV)  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Both Stewart & Carolyn expect you to have a
Blessed Day in Jesus

Be that Ambassador for Christ.

We can all share the message of salvation with others.  Forward to a friend or family member

2 Cor, 5:20 (KJV)
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Forgiveness

How do we get from being a Sinner
Till being forgiven?
We are told to believe in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus our Lord.
 (1 Cor. 15:1-4);
It might seem complicated, but please follow me; God has planned this out from the beginning and we need to understand his plan of redemption and forgiveness.

Now we know there is a sin debt because of what Adam has done, we know that Jesus paid the debt by giving his life on the cross.  The only thing we must do is to believe; to receive salvation and to have the debt paid.  Let me site an example; it’s like going to court and having someone else pay the fine (debt) for our judgment (transgression).

Now look at the events from the time that Adams sinned by disobeying God, to today where we find ourselves, now because of that disobedience we received the sin nature from Adam.  This nature caused by what Adam did has a debt.  Someone has to pay the debt for the disobedience of Adam.  Now when we study the Bible and see what Jesus has done by his death, burial and resurrection? We find that Jesus has cleaned us and cleaned the slate with his death.  That means that we can start over.

Romans 3:21-22 (KJV) 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Somehow he clothes us with his salvation. Covers us with the robe of righteousness, we haven’t done anything to deserve it.  But I will believe God and when He said it; it is done. Notice the next verse proves that point; our righteousness of God is by faith in Jesus Christ and upon all that believe. We can receive the righteousness (being in right standing with God; debt paid) of God if we believe.  God has imputed his righteousness to us and on us when we believe. That means we are in right standing with God after the shed blood of Jesus.

Isaiah 61:10 (KJV) 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation,he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Isaiah says that there is a covering of Salvation and righteousness. So then when God sees us he sees the covering on us.  His righteousness has covered our sins.

Romans 3:23-24 (KJV) 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Now this verse says that we are justified freely by Gods grace through redemption; we have been redeemed (or bought back, someone paid the debt) by God and He see’s us free of what Adam had done and since Jesus has paid the debt.

When we are justified; it means that we are clean and it is just as if we had not sinned at all.  Now the following verse will prove that we have forgiveness; it’s the redemption (bought back) through the shed blood of Jesus

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) 7 in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

From the beginning God had a plan that we would be redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, not with silver and gold.

1 Peter 1:18-20 (KJV) 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Sometimes it is hard to understand why God does certain things; ever His ways are different than ours.  But all we have to do is believe, trust his word.  Now faith comes from believe God at His word.  We were not there the day Jesus went to the cross but we must believe it took place and  believe we are saved through faith.

Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Just Believe and you will notice the change!
